INFUSION OF WORLDSKILLS STANDARDS
Arising from Jamaica’s participation in WorldSkills Special Edition 2022
Competition, linkages were forged with several member countries to
facilitate capacity building and upgrade of local training equipment.
Subsequently WorldSkills Jamaica TVET Infusion Training in Wall and Floor Tiling was launched on Monday, August 22, 2023.
In collaboration with the HEART/NSTA Trust, WorldSkills Jamaica has teamed with WorldSkills Germany to deliver wall and floor tiling training for 22 construction teachers and demonstrations. With construction as one of Jamaica’s major sectors, the upskilling of construction instructors and demonstrators is deemed a priority for Jamaica’s success.
COMPETITION CHAMPIONS
Jamaica have so far won four (4) silver and one (1) Bronze medal in two Competitions held in Rio Brazil and Sau Paulo Brazil in the areas of Culinary Arts (cooking), Fashion Design Technology, Electrical Installation, Hairdressing and Welding
