What is Try A Skill ?

The 'Try a Skill' concept was adopted from the Australian 'Try a Trade' innovation. Individuals get the opportunity to try a task, getting hands on exposure to a skill area of his/her choice and interact with professionals in the occupational area. This activity stimulates interest in skills training and highlights the career opportunities available for individuals who have accessed vocational education and training.  .

The response to this concept has been overwhelming. Some of the areas include:

  • Cake Decorating
  • Changing of Disc Pads
  • Changing of Spark Plugs
  • Hair Braiding
  • Welding
  • Hair Styling
  • Accounting Payroll Advice
  • Preparing an Electrical Circuit
  • Circumposing and Grafting
  • Tiling
  • Faucet Repairs
  • Leather Craft
