International Competitions

Japan 2007 Competition

The WorldSkills Jamaica team is intensifying its effort to ensure that the competitors representing brand Jamaica are fully equipped with the competencies that will enable their success in the WorldSkills International Competition scheduled for Shizouka Japan November 2007. Jamaica will be represented in four areas namely, Software Application, Web Design, Beauty Services and Cooking.

On the week-end of December 8-10 2006, an official launch of the training programme for competitors being prepared the Japan Competition was held at the Runaway Bay HEART Hotel and Training Institute. This was a major success as a number of distinguished speakers addressed the competitors on the theme "how to be successful on the international stage"

The competitors left the launch feeling energized. The Jamaican competitors who are being trained to bring home the gold in Japan are:

Intensive training has already started with these competitors. The competitors have been given their training schedule which focuses not only on the technical preparation but the psychological preparation.
